ABOUT me: I am a scientist interested in the mechanisms of brain aging in behavioral contexts of balance and walking control. I am particularly interested in better understanding the neuroprotective influence of exercise on brain vascular health and neural function as people age and in age-related diseases such as stroke.
GOAL of my research: I hope to leverage the knowledge gleaned from our science towards the development of behavioral treatments that target individual deficits, delaying and preventing age-related disease processes. A key goal of my research is the preservation of mobility over the course of aging to improve human well-being.
